Gallery Models USS Intrepid Is Coming

The new year brought some great news for 1/350 aircraft carrier fans--a modernized Essex Class with an angled deck.

Thanks to Gallery Models, the same people that brought you the U.S.S. Wasp LHD-1, we have the U.S.S Intrepid CVS-11 in her SCB-125 configuration.

According to MRC, the kit will contain:

• Over 1000 parts
• Over 30" long
• Includes display stand with name plate
• Full hangar deck with positionable elevators
• 18 aircraft and helicopters: A-4, F8U-1, A-1F, E-1B & UH-2B
• 6 photo-etched sheets are also included

No doubt, after market companies will provide additional details and aircraft sets. I hope we will see S.2 Trackers. You will need these to fill the deck of the Intrepid and her sisters, the Hancock and Ticonderoga, when they served as anti-submarine carriers during the 1970s.
