Detailing the Island and More
After the lower hull was finished, I turned my attention to finishing off the Clemenceau's island. I gave the island a quick gloss coat before adding the the R98 decals. After about 24 hours, I gave the island a second gloss coat.
After the gloss coat dried, I glued on the range finder to the front of the island and added photo etched railings. I also added PE railings to the rest of the decks. The smoke stack received a wash of flat black, and then was dusted with black and earth colored pastels. Hat pins of various sizes were added to simulate the various antenna found on the ship. Other smaller details came from GMM's 1/400 Naval ship set.
